Drone services for homeowners

A drone lets you see your roof, gutters, siding and heat loss without anyone climbing a ladder. Most home jobs take under an hour on site and produce photos or thermal images you can share with a roofer, insurer or buyer.

Roofs and storm damage

The most common reason homeowners book a drone.

Can a drone inspect my roof?

Yes. A drone photographs shingles, flashing, vents, chimneys and gutters up close without anyone walking on the roof. It is safer on steep or icy roofs and gives you dated photos to share with a roofer.

Should I get a drone inspection after hail or a windstorm?

A quick drone flight documents missing shingles, hail bruising and debris before anyone climbs up. Dated photos help support an insurance claim and help a contractor quote the repair.

Does a drone roof inspection replace a roofer?

No. The drone shows the visible condition of the roof. A qualified roofer or inspector still decides on repairs, and hidden problems under the shingles may need a hands-on check.

Heat loss and energy

Thermal cameras show where heat escapes from your home.

Can a drone find heat loss in my house?

Yes. A thermal camera shows warm spots on the roof and walls where heat escapes through missing insulation, air leaks or ice-dam areas. Scans work best on cold evenings, when the inside is much warmer than the outside.

When is the best time for a thermal scan in Manitoba?

Late fall through early spring, after dark or before sunrise, with no sun on the walls. A large inside-outside temperature difference makes problems easy to see.

Cleaning, photos and selling

Upkeep and listing photos without ladders.

Can a drone clean my house?

A tethered drone can soft-wash siding, windows and some roofs with low pressure and cleaning solution. Washing needs temperatures at or above 0°C, a water source on site and a clear area around the house.

Are drone photos worth it when selling a home?

Aerial photos and video show the lot, yard, neighbourhood and nearby parks in a way ground photos can't. They are common in listings for larger lots, acreages and lake properties.

Is it legal to fly a drone over my neighbourhood?

Commercial flights follow Transport Canada rules, including a pilot certificate and, near airports, permission from NAV CANADA. ClearHorizon pilots hold Advanced RPAS certificates and handle these approvals.
