Mapping, surveying and 3D
Measurable outputs for design and construction.
What is the difference between photogrammetry and LiDAR?
Photogrammetry builds maps and 3D models from overlapping photos and works well on open ground and buildings. LiDAR measures with a laser and can map the ground under trees and brush.
How accurate is drone surveying?
With RTK or PPK positioning and ground control points, drone maps can reach centimetre-level accuracy. The target accuracy is agreed before the flight and checked against control.
Can a drone measure stockpiles and earthworks?
Yes. A drone survey measures stockpile volumes and compares existing ground with design grade to calculate cut and fill. It is faster and safer than walking the pile.
What files do I get?
Common deliverables include orthomosaics, point clouds, elevation models, contours and 3D models in formats for CAD, BIM and GIS software. Formats are confirmed per project.

Agriculture
Crop health, drainage and application work for Prairie farms.
What can a drone do for a farm?
Drones scout crops with NDVI maps, map field drainage, check livestock, and can spray, seed or spread fertilizer on fields that ground rigs can't reach. Each job is planned around the crop, product label and weather.
What is NDVI?
NDVI is a plant health index made from multispectral images. Stressed areas show up before you can see them from the ground, so you can scout those spots first.
Can drones spray crops in Canada?
Yes, for products registered for drone application, applied by licensed operators under provincial rules. Rate, product and buffer zones are confirmed for each field.

Industrial, heavy-lift and rules
Larger aircraft and regulated operations.
How much can ClearHorizon's drones carry?
The fleet ranges from hand-sized drones to a truck-box-sized aircraft that carries up to 100 lb (about 45 kg).
Can drones inspect powerlines, towers and solar farms?
Yes. Visual and thermal drone flights check conductors, insulators, towers and solar arrays without climbing or helicopters. Findings are reviewed by the asset owner's qualified staff.
What rules apply to commercial drone flights in Canada?
Transport Canada Part IX rules apply. Pilots need an Advanced RPAS certificate for controlled airspace or flights near people, and NAV CANADA authorization is needed in controlled airspace.
