What's included

Drone Crop Spraying

Fungicide, insecticide and herbicide application by drone across Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Per spray timing — typically 1–3 passes per season depending on crop and disease pressure.

Drone Fertilizer Application

Liquid and granular fertilizer top-dress without driving on the crop.

Per crop stage — usually 1–2 applications per season.

Drone Seeding & Cover Crops

Broadcast cover crops, forage and pasture seed — even into standing crops and slopes.

Once per season, timed to crop stage or spring/fall pasture work.

Mosquito Larvicide Application

Targeted larvicide over ponds, ditches and flooded areas for municipalities and resorts.

Several times per season after rain and flooding events.

Crop Scouting & NDVI Mapping

Multispectral crop-health maps, stand counts and variable-rate prescriptions for prairie farms.

Two to four times per season at key crop stages; monthly for high-value crops.

Livestock Monitoring & Thermal Search

Herd location, counts and lost-animal searches across large pastures using visual and thermal drones.

As needed for checks and searches; seasonal contracts for calving or grazing rotation.

Heavy-Lift Drone Cargo Delivery (up to 100 lb)

Truck-box-sized drones that lift up to 100 lb of parts, tools or supplies to remote hydro, mining and northern sites.

Per project or on call for urgent parts and supplies.

Aerial Reforestation & Seed Dropping

Heavy-lift seed dispersal for post-wildfire reforestation and remote reclamation sites.

Seasonally per project, usually spring or fall.

Frequently asked questions

+What licences are needed for drone spraying in Manitoba?

Manitoba requires commercial applicators to pass Pesticide Core and Drone Class examinations (through Assiniboine College) and hold a Drone-class pesticide applicator licence, alongside the federal Health Canada policy in effect since June 30, 2026.

+What about Saskatchewan?

Saskatchewan introduced an RPAS applicator category in January 2026 with annual commercial licensing, drift-liability insurance and GPS application-record requirements. We meet provincial licensing in every province we spray.

+What weather conditions affect operations?

We follow Transport Canada regulations: operations pause in winds exceeding safe operating thresholds, active thunderstorms, or freezing precipitation (below 0°C for wet washing).

+What is the safety perimeter required?

A 5-metre controlled cordon around the active operating zone.

+Are pilots licensed and insured?

Yes, all pilots hold Transport Canada Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificates with comprehensive commercial aviation liability coverage.

+What sizes of drones does ClearHorizon operate?

Our fleet ranges from drones small enough to fit in your hand to drones the size of a truck box, with payload capacity up to 100 lb on our larger aircraft. Capacity varies by aircraft, equipment and operating conditions; we select the platform for each project.

+What are drone services?

Drone services are professional tasks performed using remotely piloted aircraft and equipment such as cameras, thermal sensors, mapping systems or cleaning attachments. A drone service is one specific task; drone services describes the range of work available. ClearHorizon provides commercial and residential drone services from Winnipeg across Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Kenora region of northwestern Ontario. We are a service provider, not a drone retailer; each project depends on equipment, site access, weather and flight permissions.
